You will probably need to keep building links. This can take a long time and be quite expensive, depending on how competitive your keywords are.

GWT doesn't show you all of your links, nor does ahrefs which can be slow to find links. Unless you know for a fact that you disavowed it then I wouldn't worry.

Iwriter is good because you can reject the article if it is not good enough.

It does take a lot longer these days, that's for sure. With a new site I don't expect much for at least a few months.
