There is no reason anyone should be using X, not even to make money. Everyone active there is a maniac, and it's way too oversaturated. Meanwhile, there is a Facebook group for every niche interest or subculture you could possibly imagine, no matter how small or insignificant.

If you're just getting your start in the game you've gotta be hella creative and use guerilla methods, Tumblr is still perfect for creative and fandom niches.
