Quality posts alone is not enough anymore. If you write quality contents and wait for links then you will wait long. Back links are the only way to get ranked faster.

I never knew blog commenting is a major way to receive better ranking with google because I have watched videos from matt cutt google guy that says if commenting makes up most part of your links then your site might take a dip. Maybe things have changed in the past few years.
