I only sell ebooks right now. I could create paperbacks of my ebooks, but I want to build up a decent backlist for my 2 main niches and get up earnings to at least a few hundred dollars a month first.

I plan to reach $1000 with short stories and short non-fiction. But I will get into novels and paperbacks after that.

Novels usually do well on Kindle. Was it in the romance genre? Maybe you should tweak your keywords? I did that with my short stories and it worked wonders.
