i'm curious about timelines rather than SEO theory. i wait least 30 days sometimes longer i've seen links take time to show up in ranking i've also seen links that seemed strong at first but never moved anything. its hard to tell for sure i think 30 to 60 days is a window to starting evaluating.

for improving recreate designs you consider strong and then compare your decisions with the original design teaches spacing and composition well.

i'd start with links you can realistically earn or build through genuine outreach, partnerships, useful resources etc. no need to chase hundreds of links before the site has even gained traction.

i usually look at organic traffic, keyword rankings, impressions clicks in search console and conversions. traffic is nice but conversions tell me if the SEO is actually working.
