this is because of the terrible deign of the heatsinks on both the DV6 & DV7.......heatsinks face the back of the keyboard and are on the sides of the main exhaust fan...literally creating a vacuum for dust/hair/etc to hit the rear wall of the heatsink...had a dv7, was tired of cleaning it out...

Personally I am a big fan of the ThinkPads and earlier Lenovos - built like tanks, easy to upgrade and OC - not a fan of Dell/HP...too much bloatware
