The other question I had was if I went with tethering to my bot phone (iphone), is there any way of using the iphone as a proxy? As in I could still use my pc on home wifi and tell the bot software to use the proxy ip as you would normally?

It's the proxy which is an issue. I'm using newip at the moment (ipv4 I believe). I've changed the ip and I've managed to post. So I assume that the ip I was using was hammered. Not sure I can go through requesting new ips this often though as I'm only botting 1 account - it seems everyone else...
