I have a friend who doesn't live in Australia or NZ, his base account wasn't there and he got the blue tick from meta

From what I saw, there are account that are based in another country but they got the meta verified availabe and got their blue tick. I think it's up to meta to unlock this feature for accounts, maybe they do a random selection. All I know is that you have to wait until this changes.

Using VPN on New Zealand and it's showing Meta Verified option but it says "Meta Verified not available", updating you on this when it changes.
