I own about 1500 domain names and I am pretty big on the domain industry. Yes....what he did is wrong....and the fact that he did that AFTER he saw your blogpoat and you have emails to prove it that are time stamped it will be easy to prove his attempt at extortion.
WOAH...thats pretty crazy. Do you have an account rep? I have a ton of names there so I have an actual executive account rep who has ALWAYS been very helpful. I have heard though without an account rep it is next to impossible to get answers in situations like these. Keep us posted.
Gotten C&Ds aplenty. They ask for the domain. You hand it over. No problem. However, I have gotten some very unjustified C&Ds as well. If you are violating a TM, just hand the domain over. Typically no further probs.
I have been in domains a LONG time. Typically you dont have a problem. If you are trying to profit off of the TM then they can take the name from you. It IS possible for them to sue you....but I have never seen that for someone who was willing to let the name go.
that being said....there are...
it is a violation of TOS on every parking service I know to actually "send traffic" to a parked domain. Parking is only good for names that have existing type in traffic..and sometimes link traffic. There's really not a lot you can do to drive traffic as Google for the most part wont even show...
I have used MANY services for it. MOST places are free....Godaddy does charge, but it is minimal. I have actually gotten some GEMS from the TDNAM auctions though....but typically...they are full of newbie domainers that WAY overpay for the names.
