It definitely won't hurt. I would make sure that people understand what your site is about from the name of the domain. It also looks professional that way.

having the vision of what you want it to look like is annoying if you cannot do it yourself because you are not technical. You can hire someone from fiverr to do the technical work for you and you can concentrate of writing the blogs.
