There is a lot more to CL than simply proxies and IPs but im not going to get into that as that is more of CL discussion which belongs in the blue section I would have to disagree with you saying that having a VPS doesnt help though, it makes a significant difference, ask any serious IMer... -

VPS is good to keep your real IP safe and stay anonomous to CL. If the real IP slips past the proxies CL could ban them for life As well as increases productivity, One other thing i like about it, is the fact that it allows you to seperate your business life from your personal life -
