Your specific question relates to changing the name then? I can't see any issue re changing the name in the T&C. However, if the content of the page is unrelated to the page you want to merge it with, regardless of the name, Facebook may not allow it.

It is possible. Merging pages combines all your likes and check-ins, but all other content such as posts, photos and the username are permanently deleted. Also, the pages that you merge must be about the same thing. If it's not clear that the pages represent the same thing, Facebook won't...
