I doubt highly that it would cost that much to make that site.

There are just so many more things you can do with wordpress there is really no comparison. There are so many more plugins and it has a ton more things you can do with it, especially if you are familiar with it.

I try to do work whenever I get an idea but it gets discouraging since my ideas rarely work.

I got that too, I'm glad it wasn't just me.
