Forgot to mention http://www.rankw.com. It has few great analysis tools i.e. keyword extraction, traffic analysis, site value, search traffic analysis etc. gives an overall idea about a website!

SEO Powersuite's rank tracker (free version does a great job for me), just enter the url, it will grab the keywords. Also semrush and sequake plug-in is great to extract keywords. In addition to all these, I would also do a backlinks analysis with ahrefs and look at the anchor texts as well.

Absolutely right, however I would also like to use other tools such as semrush, adword, ahrefs and seo powersuite's rank tracker.

I would make it a blog with great contents/posts. Eventually buy more domains (even low or 0 pr) and create a blog network being mindful of not leaving any footprint though! Instead of selling links directly accept guest posts that will have links anyway and also Adsense, adverts will bring some...

None of the backlink checkers are 100% perfect but ahrefs provides near accurate and complete breakdown of result that keeps it one step ahead of others. I would also like to compare the result with majestic SEO and SEO Spyglass. Free version of these products work perfect for me. Cheers.
