as for picking a niche for ur first blog uh should not over think about it. choose something that u really know or like, post useful articles on it nd learn about SEO at the same time. after posting 10-20 posts ,u will definitelly understand what works.

i believe that comments are underused for growing a LinkedIn presence. with just one comment on a well liked post u can draw visitors from proffiles that will never be able to find ur own post. i would utilize comments to get attention while posts would serve a different purpose.
