Not true. When I followed around 5,000 and had around 5,000 following me back it was increased. Now I’m following 9k and have 13k following.

Does anyone know any good websites for twitter where you can check all the users that don’t follow you? On top of that, are there any where you could mass unfollow those users as well? Thanks!
