I had this problem but if I might add something.. paypal terms and services change based on yohr location (paypal germany) for example im american but payoal oyt here states virtual goods are covered to the point that when your scammed they side with them on the grounds for un-authorized...

You can check any code Via a Xbox Live account.. simply goto the section for redeeming codes (from middle menu button) and when you put in the code to redeem it will show you what the code is for.. I.E 4000 points or 12 months... and ask if you want to redeem or cancel.. click the cancel button...
