    What is considered "Quality Content"?

As ipopbb has posted elsewhere, Google seems to like 500-2000 words, properly formatted into sentences and paragraphs. I take his postings as gospel, so this is probably good advice. But "quality content" is more than a word count. It must adequately address the subject. Several folks have...

    Man I am fed up

If you're "not feeling it" but have to write something, don't try to write a complete, coherent article one sentence at a time. Just start typing some thoughts loosely related to the subject. Avoid anything that you can't write in a phrase--no complete sentences. When you get 10 or 20 of...

Sales Tax In Host Computer State

Recently, Yahoo announced that Texas was considering a bill that would require vendors with online businesses hosted in Texas to collect and remit state sales tax for sales within Texas (whether the business had a physical presence there or not.) This is noteworthy as all of the Yahoo store...

    Online Payment Processors (credit cards)?

Having been in business for nearly 20 years, I can tell you that, in general, I despise merchant payment services providers. I was robbed by the first few I used (until I wised up) and have since been approached on a near-daily basis by those who would promise me better rates before they even...

Whats the best ecommerce cart for SEO?

You are absolutely correct--I will be glad to provide more detail. My company has 8 ecommerce websites, ranging from fully handjammed HTML with a shopping cart by Americart to OSCommerce sites to Yahoo stores to pre-populated database/cart solutions for which we provide just the content...

    Website Worth !

I agree with Brent360. Use conventional business valuation techniques (5x profit, etc) and get a number to put you in the ballpark. Then, if you think the website has some particular untapped potential, you may consider going beyond that (but be careful.) Good luck!

Which Stated is Your Business Incorporated In?

When you Google Delaware corporations you get a list of websites that are either trying to sell Delaware incorporation packages or links to lawyers who sell Delaware incorporations. The benefits of a Delaware corporation have become nearly non-existent over time. Unless your state has some...

Planning a trip - HELP ME PLAN!!

I've lived in Florida all my life. You've got to take the good with the bad. If you hate cold weather, do it. We only get a couple of days at or below freezing in the central Florida area. If you hate heat and humidity--head the other way. Likewise, mosquitos, alligators, hurricanes. No...

I need feedback about one idea, please

You say that you want to start Online and eventually go brick & mortar. Good idea. That being the case, I would focus primarily on the online piece. It is actually much easier to go from Online to Brick & Mortar rather than the other way around. For online, though, it's all about keywords...

Help needed my wife just bought a puppy store

A lot of people (particularly on this "DIY" forum) will shun Yahoo stores, but based on your relative inexperience I would suggest that you consider it. It can't be beat for peace of mind (knowing that it isn't going to crash or suddenly just "not be there anymore") and there is a credibility...

    Yahoo Store Database

Hmmm. I don't know that "all" is possible. I have two yahoo stores and they are pretty much 100% customizable, so there might be almost no fingerprints left that indicate it is a Yahoo store. At some point, however, it will have to have a link to the shopping cart. That will have a link...

    $299 a year for Yahpoo

I have two Yahoo stores...and mixed feelings. I can tell you that it doesn't help your SERP standings because you are a Yahoo store, so that's right out. On the other hand, if $300 per year is going to make or break you, then you're probably right not do it. Awesome customer support. You get...

    custom footprints for e-commerce sites

Being a newbie, I thought maybe it was just me that didn't know what you meant by "footprints", but since you didn't get any responses maybe I'm not alone. Do you mean templates?

Whats the best ecommerce cart for SEO?

Don't let perfection be the enemy of progress. While all of the suggestions above are good, none will be perfect. Bear in mind that you will always end up refining and modifying (or paying someone to modify), but that is what makes your site not look "cookie cutter".
