If you're downloading a pirated version from that link, thats a very old version of the course. The new one is totally updated with current techniques. Don't bother with pirated versions they will always be outdated.

Yes citations still have an impact for hidden address listings, but it is less every year. If the address is hidden in google maps, google does not give the option to get driving directions.

yes more locations will help, but fyi its against google tos to do that so you need to make sure all are completely separate, not tied together in any way including the IP you use to login, website phone business name etc

Google knows where you are and they use that to give you local results even if you dont type cityname/state in your search. In fact, this is how most people search. Haven't tested this or seen it tested in quite a while but back when I did, it did not produce any measurable result.

first step is to make sure you are properly checking rankings. few people search for "keyword + city, state." only SEO types use those searches. Most people just search "keyword" and let google figure out where they are. You can imitate this with this checker...
