I agree that it’s usually a combination of signals. In my opinion, spam and marketing in areas where it isn’t allowed can be major factors. Account history, payment behaviour, and sudden changes in activity can add to the overall risk as well.

I’ve wondered about this too. I think niche relevant directories can help with discovery and some referral traffic, but I wouldn’t chase high DR alone. Google can devalue low quality or manipulative links, so relevance and genuine value matter more than DR.
