I use Vimeo to host videos for online courses, if I was a creator (filmmaker, musician, etc) I'd host my content on Vimeo as well, BUT in your case, I don't think it's worth at all. Better focus your efforts on improving your organic reach within youtube, for that, I use VIDIQ chrome extension...

People don't read as much as they watch video content, if you're into blogging/love writing then definitely add a video version of your post within the entry itself, if that's not the case I'd focus my efforts on video marketing instead of blogging, especially if you're starting, AGAIN it...
