I see binaryaffiliates.com is in the news today as being a site that was once run by the brother of the Tory party Treasurer. He says it was a total failure. Anyone have any dealings with them?

Most local newspapers are so desperate for content that if you reached out to the editors and put out a press release about something relevant to the city they will do an article about it.

Its a good point. For years Facebook, google and the like have been very happy to make billions selling ads to people watching other peoples content, and sharing very very little of that with the people who created the content themselves. That would be bad enough, if it wasn't that they were so...

Sounds like your site is waiting for the youtube video to load before it loads the rest of the site. You need to work out how to reverse that. I think there are ways to set up Wordpress to do that, not sure about the others

Google has said that backlinks are not counted in their algorithm any more - although a lot of people think that is BS. In any event even if they do count backlinks, it is probably true that they are becoming less important.
