The tests you have done with your sites, did you block the SEO crawler bots with the htaccess? Or did you create a new way to prevent them from crawling your site? Thank you for your response btw.

Right. This client is another SEO person who has a pbn. I want to hide mine from them because of the wealth of information you can find out through one domain. For this person, changing the .htaccess is preemptive. They know I have one and are buying links from me.

You have to change the .htaccess. Specifically add code to that file to block a multitude of crawlers
