You have to find the middle-ground between "direct approach" and "indirect approach". You need to let them know that you want to post on their website, but at the same time make it seem to them like it was their idea, and like you can actually provide​ something for them that they don't yet have.

This is essentially a useless waste of money. In the long run, this isn't going to give you anything. The only thing that will actually provide long-term results is making good, relevant videos to begin with, sharing on social networks, and try to get some sort of endorsement.

Moz is awesome. I've had to use my corporate account for work and it's the best. It really gives you what you'd expect, and it doesn't disappoint. However, that said, if you're using what they have for free then... well... as was said before, you're just looking at backlinks from three years...

I would say it's the "mobile and social media" era.

For me the go-to answer is "freelancing". There's very little responsibility, and you also get the advantage of picking and choosing the type of work you would like to do.
