It can be risky, it depends on what exactly youre buying - f.e. id never buy clothings brands from HK, because its always fake. But i found that i could buy car parts (tuning/design) esp. carbon fiber parts cheaper in HK and theyre the same they would sell to me in a western onlineshop for three...

Thats why its always better to take free advice and never pay for it. 99% of the time its scam artists. I bet there are some free youtube videos of people giving advice and the rest has to be your creativity.

I guess the customer just tries to avoid the paypal connection to ebay, could be a scammer since paypal usually sides with the buyer, especially if its outside ebay and theres no record of what was sold etc.
