What tools do you use for SEO A/B testing?

I've seen everything from R (the stats package ) and Excel spreadsheets to... Well, not much else. If you're doing A/B testing, particularly for tricky things like internal links and anchors, what tools do you use?

    Delete already indexed pages

Ok got it. Sounds like you're mostly starting from scratch and you're worried about pages that are currently indexed but lead nowhere: 404. Do I have that correct? If so, then your 404 pages will not rank (they're not indexed) and SEO should be fine. More info here...

    Delete already indexed pages

Add the noindex meta tag to each page you want removed from index. It's bad for SEO since these pages which might have some traffic will no longer be searchable, but if you're trying to free up crawl budget for more valuable pages then this makes sense.

    Do you use Canva?

I'm an extremely active canva user. I can't think of when I'd need a template so my instinct is you should not build this because I don't need it. I might be interested in more frames. These are super handy and even though canva offers like 100, you could probably make another could couple...

Startup founder trying to make SEO's lives easier... tell me what sucks and I will try to solve it (hard problems welcome)

This is really interesting. What conclusions can low priority pages help us draw? Example: if a low priority page ranks 55th does that tell me my content quality is low? What conclusions can you draw with indexing of low priority pages? Thanks again.

Startup founder trying to make SEO's lives easier... tell me what sucks and I will try to solve it (hard problems welcome)

Maybe a more important question is "do we really even need to know specifically what's indexed?" Useful, yes, but critical? I'm not sure. Curious for your opinion.

Startup founder trying to make SEO's lives easier... tell me what sucks and I will try to solve it (hard problems welcome)

Yes. Agree the sitemap limit is 50k, but how do you know which URLs in the sitemap are indexed? I think you can look up the indexed urls in GSC, but I think they just show you 1,000. I'm wondering how to get all of them.

Startup founder trying to make SEO's lives easier... tell me what sucks and I will try to solve it (hard problems welcome)

Got it. So it seems like we should break our sitemaps into chunks of 1,000 to fit below the GSC limit? Is that how you'd do it? I think those results are limited to 1,000 per sitemap. And generally not accessible via API. I guess I'm just wondering how people know what's indexed when the...

Startup founder trying to make SEO's lives easier... tell me what sucks and I will try to solve it (hard problems welcome)

Knowing if a page is indexed seems very important. If you work on a giant (100k+) domain (any large e-commerce website or niche search engine)... How do you know what is/is not indexed?

What do you love/hate about screaming frog?

We're thinking about hosting our own instance of screaming frog to get 100% internal linking coverage for our 1mm page site. What do you love/hate about screaming frog? Do you host your own instance? Any tips?

Found the perfect niche - how do I get better than competitors?

You probably won't beat the leader at the big audience, but you might be able to deliver even better content for a micro niche within their audience. It's actually really great they're making $200-$400k/mo since it validates the niche is valuable.

Great for hard skills like accounting and possible software dev.

Startup founder trying to make SEO's lives easier... tell me what sucks and I will try to solve it (hard problems welcome)

Am I asking the right question? It seems like knowing which of my 1mm pages is indexed is very important, but I don't see many people asking this. For giant domains in particular (10mm+ pages or pretty much every large e-commerce).

Startup founder trying to make SEO's lives easier... tell me what sucks and I will try to solve it (hard problems welcome)

I use GSC regularly. Page detail API limits me to 2k requests/day. Query API has no limit but I need to deduce what is indexed based on whether or not a page generated an impression. If you work on SEO for a domain with more than 1mm pages, how do you know what's indexed? How do you optimize...

Would you choose this domain name ?

Good question. I like keyword domains when they effectively communicate what your product does since it improves user experience. Counterexample: Screaming frog has good name recognition, but to the uninitiated, it's just another thing to learn. I don't think a keyword domain will improve SEO on...
