Actually I just solved this problem....Must've sounded like an idiot with all my complaining. I switched over to Firefox and installed the Media Hint add-on and now iplayer works. Now to watch old episodes from BBC4's archeology collection....Yes, I am such a nerd.

I've tried a few Chrome extensions but couldn't get them to work. I generally pay for a VPN whenever I go abroad but I'm in the process of trying to switch/find a new & better service (used to subscribe to GoTrusted, which worked decently) but in the meantime, I just want to be able to watch BBC...
