As you changed the URL before indexing - this is irrelevant to the ranking. So if there is a problem, its not because you changed the URL.

This^. The already ranking domain is redirected to this one. Probably because is something shady - torrents, streaming etc and was blocked in some GEO. So its simple transfer of links and traffic.

yeah no. I know what OP is talking about, those searches are NOT real traffic. Like for example: "Best Nike shoes for 2023 in brand.com" where brand.com is his website. :D No real user ever search like that.
