Join your local chamber of commerce. They will usually give or sell you the members list. Call the other members and offer them a member to member special. They will respect you for being a member and the member fees usually aren't very high.

Sounds like a full time job to me. I hope $1500 a month pays your bills.

I would invest in places scout if your working with local customers, it will be worth the investment.

ORM is a great service to supplement other creative and marketing services. If you are trying to get your foot into the industry I would start with web design. Work with people you already know (friends and family) to get your feet wet. Try craigslist and other sites to find freelance design...
