Go .com and on SSL the wildcard option is great as you can cover your whole site and any subdomains but it costs more so ask yourself if the cost is worth it. Personally I buy certs from 3rd parties but some host cos give good deals - again it comes down to price and the cert you want to use.

AdWords Keyword Planner is a good place to start. You can also look at Spyfu, SEMRush and other competition tracking tools for insights... and for your competitors keyword lists
