Its a sad reality and yes without personal efforts, the YT initiative is not gonna yield anything. I am no guru myself, just going to start my channel, but have learned from my previous life lessons that personal efforts are important to an endeavor.

2 grand for half million subs channel, I suspect fishy on the radar.

This might not be the brightest idea, reason being there was an incident in which the previous owner filed a Hacking case and got the channel back. At the end the new guy lost his money.
