most likely this sounds like a situation where you or your wife got hacked. I suggest to contact facebook and try to recover the page. After that make sure you change all your passwords and it would be ideal to use a password manager and a generated long password with numbers and symbols in it...

maybe it is just a bug , or your app is outdated. Make sure you update the app Close the process from settings and restart it again
