This is interesting. Have done something similar before in the past, but with another niche. Used Reddit to promote my own article, was able to get article to the top of hot. Got tons of hits to the website, and it also helped out by getting a lower alexa ranking.

You mean uploading your own video from the phone without letting anyone know it's from camera roll? There are ways to jail break your phone and get a hacked version of Snapchat where it lets you do that.
