The best way is to post on porn subreddits since it almost always gets upvoted. Or to go thought the top of all time under a subreddit and repost a submission.

both on imgur (+7 points so far) and reddit (+3 points in 5 mins)

You can't realistically get Reddit karma fast, it's something that takes a few weeks.
Anyway, here's my tips:
1. Post to aww cute, especially if you have a cat / dog of your own. You can get creative this way!
2. Just post quality advice or viewpoints on general threads. Be careful though, read up on Reddits user demographic and steer clear of controversial views. Reddit is a generally left wing bunch of guys so if you wouldn't class yourself as that you might want to re-read everything you post just in case.
3. Travel posts are hugely popular, if you camp out or go on holiday frequently this is a goldmine of Karma. I remember seeing threads of a couple to drove a camper through America and took a tonne of photos - Karma and traffic central right there!
Like I said, it's tough to get genuine Karma on Reddit and the user base is so tech savvy they can often spot a fake account and it's fake upvotes.
Please ignore the advice of "re-posting old submissions". Reddit users are soooo onto that it's unreal - expect to be banned / downvoted quickly!
