How would I be best with ranking a single page website on Google?
(or a few page website if I add some content)

I've seen sales pages rank for general keywords.
I don't remember if they had any blog or anything extra to add content to it.
But at least the landing page was just a single website with almost no links to other pages.

I need to rank a single page website on Google. I can of course add a few pages of content to it. As a blog or something like that.
But basically it will be a single page website.

Is that extremely hard compared to a new website with more content?
Would I be best off using wordpress or is HTML fine?

The website will have unique content though, but just 1-5 pages of it.
Then I'll just build backlinks like crazy.

try to go with 5 well optimized pages, create an RSS feed of your site and then submit your feed to rss feed syndication websites, there are tools to automate the process... that should help you to get started...

either wordpress with your seo plugins installed or html works just as well, providing you know what your are doing and your code is relatively clean

a keyword optimized domain wouldnt go a miss either... prefably a .com if your targetting us or .co.uk if your targeting the uk...

hth

thanks

I don't think you need more than one to get indexed but if you want a good chance of ranking you need more than one page. A blog would probably be a worthwhile addition.

Thank you very much. Helpful information.
I'm targeting both the us and uk so I'll go with a .com

Yes but my plan is to get them ranking well.
A blog would be excellent but it wouldn't get many updates at all.

I also wouldn't want it to look like a blog to the readers because I don't want them to go read my other useless posts. I want them to keep on going to my affiliate link. Which I'll be using an image ad, pop up and / or something like that.
