Hello BHW,

Where can I get cheap hosting with decent quality? Also, where can I find cheap .com domains? What are your guys recommendations? Thanks.

namecheap
It isn't cheap, most .com domains are about $9. You have to buy it for two year, pay upfront, first year $0.88 second year $14, so you're still paying about $15.

cheap & decent quality are never in the same sentence. with that being said:
hostgator, 1&1, godaddy have coupons for $1 hosting.
1&1 and godaddy do $1 domains with coupons.

For domains, namesilo is actually the cheapest provider, regarding hosting, cheap and quality do not go together. I would advise you to check out BHW marketplace section for that.

I m using namecheap since 2012 and my opinion namecheap is cheaper than other company. You can take a look at their site and compare with others. :)

I use namecheap as well, we dutch people always want things as cheap as possible, if not free.
In order to register a godaddy 1$ .com domain you are not allowed to pay with Paypal, but with credit card. Does anyone knows how to get cheap vcc and does it work with vcc?

Godaddy 24€ hosting 1 year + .com domain + domain privacy

Dont forget to consider the tech support you might need...

I'd say namecheap. Great customer service, and great UI, never had an issue with them.

tld-list.com/ - there you'll find an overview of current domain promotions for different tlds

without any hidden fees and with dicounts u should try namesilo

In the UK I use one.com don't know if you guys overseas can use it. Basic package is £10 with hosting and domain

I also use ipage and search for $1 a month coupon.

I'm not gonna ask you what are you going to host, what CMS, what are your needs, I'm just going to give some general newbie friendly brands.

GoDaddy: $12 for first year = hosting + 1 free .com domain. Personaly, I dont like their "buy all this other crap, that you will never need" business model. But they are not EIG owned brand, and they actually have support compared to, shall we say, 1&1.

Namecheap = hosting is $9.88 + domains arround $10 depending on current promotions +1 year free privacy. Cool guys, fast chat support, a bit slower servers than GoDaddy.

Namesilo = just domains for $9 for every year of registration, and free privacy forever. I love them. No bullshit, no drama, life is good.

That is the cheapest that i know of.
If you really want cheap go for .99 coupon on GoDaddy domain and Namecheap $9.88 hosting.

Cheers

Thanks everybody for the replies! Just letting you guys know where I'm gonna use the domain + hosting for... I got a nice viral theme for WP, gonna place some fake (news) articles on the website, just so I can test how much traffic I can get. I'll also place AdSense on it, to see how much it earns. Just one question though: how many visitors can the GoDaddy's $1 hosting handle per month?
