[Question] Youtube Channel or Own Site?

Hi everyone,

I have been throwing the idea around to start making video content for a while now, but I'm not sure where to go from here.

I have been seeing the news about advertisers pulling out of youtube and youtube getting stricter about what channels must do in order to meet TOS. Also, youtube is to me over saturated with channels.

Getting to my question, I want to know should I start with youtube or make my own site where I can get a more targeted audience and monetize the site with ad networks?

Why not try both worlds? If your videos don't violate youtube's rules. Then why not post it on both?

That sounds like an option.

Would monetizing through adsense be a problem or would I be okay since I would have the copyright? I ask because I know Google can be picky about duplicate content.

Unfortunately, I am a newbie on that field. I don't have the experience or know-how to honestly give you a correct answer. We might as well, wait for an experienced person to reply to that.

if you gonna blog. dont make your own site. its hard to grow own site. especially if you wanna grow brand from scratch
just go to medium and blog there and get some followers. if you have give them good helpful things.

you can recommend affiliates for monetization or the tools that you use. you can sell them once you have the trust of readers.
good things about medium is it already has viewers.

kinda like amazon is great when you have product there caise you dont even need to promote to have sales.

Yes you can go for both options and dedicate time.As for Duplicate content spend some time and rewrite them it wont take too much time.

First you should research on keywords/ SEO . if your SEO is good then YouTube and other platform are good otherwise its useless effort's
