go to check my Instagram accounts this morning and see this message

'' Sad news to all of you who fell in love with Instagress: by request of Instagram we were forced to close our web-service that helped you so much in your Instagram journey. We are all very sad of that but it looks like there is nothing we can do at the moment ''

BIG QUESTIONS!
  1. will this happen to other botting software like massplanner followliker
  2. are they going to change the algorithm again

really sad news... :( IG is becoming more and more totalitaristic.
 
Yes, the sky is falling!

But no, it probably won't happen to FL and MP because those bots are hosted on your own computer/server, unlike Instagress which - as I understand it - abused Instagram's API.

So, nothing to worry about - for now.
 
I would go dark for at least a month until the dust settles. Far too risky as IG probably flag your account from instagress originating IP address pool.

A shutdown only means its time to evolve again. It won't be long before a similar replacement program comes along. The internet is always replicating something, so I doubt the wait will be long.

They dont need to . It is all forensics that can be pulled up in a simple SQL query. They know your account. When you post/do an interaction, the IP is recorded in the log history. All they need to do is an aggregate SQL query. I do this all the time at my job for security/infiltration to track users. 1st year, entry level tech intern can do this. Not rocket science for web applications like Insta.

Do you think they will dedicate resources to actually do that? Is it worth it for them to find out who was using instagress and penalize those users? I can't imagine they would waste any time doing that, it's not like they're losing money or people using instagress were stealing from them.

How is it wasting time? Or resources? It is literally 15 seconds of a Postgres SQL query that a 1st year intern can do under instruction.
 
In my account all fine. And no any messages about a shutdown.
 
Zuckie and his team, has been cracking down anything automated regarding FB and IG.

You receive nice letters from them and you better get movin' or it will cost you an arm and a leg if don't!

So it's only a matter of time before what's working, doesn't anymore...
 
Could do what I did for my meme account and code one yourself. Yes I know Instagram makes it a PITA to login from any app that isn't one of their own. Simplest solution I could find was login on the web interface, pull the cookie & headers and use those.
 
I just don`t wanna to depend of these services anymore.
I will go up my self bot using https://github.com/instagrambot/instabot... soon i will do some pull requests to these project.
 
As far as i know, they are closed because they have the word 'insta' in their domain, which is a registered trademark of instagram!

Most experienced use VPN or VPS to access cloud botting software so who cares it will be a futile attempt
 
I am using Stim Social. Works really good for all the 53 accounts I am managing. Averaging 3k followers a month for each.
