I tried my very first method today...please critique

Okay I know I'm brand new but have been lurking here for a long time. Today I decided to put a little money where my mouth is, just kinda for fun, and very low effort.

1. I joined an affiliate network
2. I found a product in their "top sellers" (its a bundle of software tools for more traffic and more moolah)
3. I requested to promote
4. I was accepted
5. I bought a domain similar to the product name (for 99 cents hooray)
6. I forwarded that domain to the seller by copying my affiliate link
7. I made a facebook brand page in like fifteen minutes from info from the seller and posted a video from their site with my website above it and a short description about how to make 2000 or more a day
8. I boosted that post for 20 bucks and targeted internet marketing people...basically put about ten interests in the interest field
9. I bought a couple fiverrr gigs to boost my site and blast it over the internet...basically they said they would promote it to millions of followers
10. The end

All in all I spent like 36 bucks and spent about an hour or less so if I fail miserably it will be an easy lesson. But I guess I'm asking...what did I do wrong? What did I do right? Did I do anything the seller won't like? Any faux pas? Please don't laugh your asses off this is seriously the first step I have ever made in this direction after reading for a long time. I am willing to put maybe 20 more bucks into fiverrr. Backlinks? Or forget fiverrr? I haven't read very good things about other ways to drive traffic and I figured that they could do it better than me. What do you think?

I mean, what exactly did you purchase on Fiverr? The last thing you want is to get slapped by Uncle G.
 
You made quite a few mistakes but hey! you took the first step! That's possibly the most important part in IM.

Your mistakes were (IMO)

You just used your domain to redirect to your vendors site, I think you should first direct the traffic to your own site, review the product there, presell it, capture email. Just redirecting wont work. Also, 20$ is nothing in FB Ads and it requires a lot of testing. (I personally never found success with CPA and Affiliate Marketing)

Also, using Fiverr gigs is of no help. Imo, all the fiverr gigs are useless when it comes to backlinking, promoting etc. Because if they were actually promoting to a million followers, do you think they would be selling it for 5$? Not really.

Learn from these mistakes and make sure you don't commit the same mistakes in future. I know i wasted a lot of money before i actually got something right, I have no regrets since it made me learn a lot!

Your affiliate going to kick you out for directly posting their content to fb
Your domain is deindexed by now.

Now browse the forum and search for other ways to do so.

Thank you for this insightful post. I guess the appeal of redirect for me was to not have to be hosted...but I think I'm getting a hosting account today. Thanks for the clues I will keep hammering on this stuff.

Some people said they would "blast it out to ten million followers" or something like that. I picked two people like that with good reviews. Interestingly, one of them contacted me to cancel, saying he does not do my type of business. I moved on, so now I've spent even less.
 
Domain (( try a exspired domain in your niche that heigh in da and good tf ))

Hosting

Wordpress (( sales page
Articles of sales page/item x10 times.

Youtube video directing to your product/sales page in comments area.

Socail websites with written info on product pointing to sales page .

Backlink all the articles with web 2.0 in your niche.....

Keep promotting with comments from facebook and youtube ....

It is ok, just thinking that it would be better to be in the "My Journey Discussions" section.
 
You started off targeting the wrong audience.
Don't target IM people with an "increase your traffic, increase your money" type offer.
Instead, host your site, put up a multi-page sales funnel, explain to the reader how to set up a site(step by step), affiliate ad to hosting, affiliate ad to name registrar, affiliate ad to logo design, EVERYTHING! But make it nice, also explain how they can do it on a web2, use canva to make a logo, so you keep both types of readers. NOW, those that keep reading and keep going, will be funneling down to the "More traffic, More Moolah" end game, except it isn't the end game! Capture their email along the way, and you can hit them up later, like an ATM.
Now, with this sales funnel, you might get 1 maybe 2 from a boost to IM people, but what about boosting to "work from home" people, or "get rich quick" people, or any of THAT demographic, now if you format your ad right, set your website up for a proper funnel, you can potentially make money through 5-6 steps of the process, AND have a valuable mailing list, depending on what you go with, wham, bam, thank-you sir, you can hit them up with tips for their sites, "latest breaking news" opportunities, "hot for 201*" work from home stuff, just nurture the list, don't just spam it to wrong every penny tomorrow. Treat it good, nurture it, and it will provide you with dollars next month, and the month after.

Don't shortcut, go all out.
 
Also, don't shy away from web hosting and domains. Web hosting and domains will eventually be the cheapest part of your business. LOL, in fact, you'll probably be spending more on a few links than a years worth of hosting! Your start is a start. I definitely agree to build a website and attempt to add some value to the sales funnel. Review the product, create a simple PDF lead magnet to get people on your email list, put them through an auto responder series that builds the problem up, then finally offer them the solution once you've given them some value for free. I make this sound so easy, but what I've just described is actually quite difficult and takes a lot of learning. There are whole books and courses dedicated to each step in the process I just described. All I can say is get to work, learn as you go, and keep going.
 
Just want to point out some super important things that you totally did correct and absolutely NAILED.

You TOOK ACTION, and that is FUCKING AMAZING.
You also INVESTED which shows you are actually taking this seriously.

Those 2 things alone will eventually if not very soon make you money.

But you also did something else genius.

You asked for CRITIQUE and IMPROVEMENT IDEAS from the correct people, so you will get NEW LEARNING's.
(aka sought council/guidance)


The fact you have those 3 things down means you are literally 100% odds on to make it if you keep that up and take the lessons and keep doing the first 2.
You just need to tweak things, not massively change things, nice work tbh.

The best thing you did was made a start! It sort of doesn't matter if this fails or not. If it works it's great and if it fails then you know what not to repeat. It can take ages to hit on something and then refine it and start making good money. Starting it is something that most readers here will never do.

For me you probably have gone down the wrong niche route of make money/traffic etc. That's up there with the toughest of them all. Try and look and find something that answers someones problem that isn't over saturated. Look for things people are passionate about and maybe offer some sort of product review site. Choose 3 products and review them and lead them to the best one.

Avoid things like fiverr for real traffic/leads etc. Every gig is just pure spam and will never get you any leads. They won't offer any benefit to your site for rankings as they just use all the same places to spam your links.

Social media is a good simple way to start. Create an FB page around your site and join groups and add some input before dropping a link to your FB page. Don't say its your page but go along the lines of ... Just saw this on FB about my (problem) and they have some great (fixes/cures) solutions blah blah blah.....

Well done for making a start. We all fail along the way but failing is always one step closer to getting it right.
