Shortening cpa tracking links

I had a discussion with another affiliate marketer who does cpa.
I told them that they should not shorten their cpa tracking link ( cash network, peerfly, etc)
because their account will get banned.

They said that they can shorten it with click magic and as long as they have their own landing page that they will be fine and their network wont be able to tell that its their link and thaf alot of marketers do this. Is this true? Sorry if i sound ignorant
