Hello, first of all i hope i have posted this in an acceptable forum, i wasn't sure which one to post in but most of the similar posts to mine that i found seem to have been posted here.
I'm starting a new journey where my main source of traffic to begin with will be email marketing to a targeted audience. I have read through numerous posts on the forum in relation to email marketing and i have acquired good knowledge but some of the threads are a few years old and as you know, things can change quickly in relation to IM. That is why i'm asking for advice. I'd be grateful for any input.
I have a targeted email list which is CAN-SPAM compliant as my emails will be B2B. Though as it isn't opt-in i can only imagine this still breaks the terms and conditions of Email distributors such as Mailchimp etc. Is that correct? I'll probably be looking to send no more than 10,000 emails a day, though i may scale up after my initial testing.
Another option i have come across is to use a mass mailing software such as Atomic Email Studio along with an Amazon SES smtp. Am i right in saying i would need a VPS to host this? And if so can i run other programs along side these, such as Scrapebox or would i need a separate VPS for each software? I am also going to create a website, would it be ok to host the site on the same VPS? Or is separate hosting advisable?
Also my main concern is to avoid the spam folder. I have discovered good techniques to avoid it such as avoiding using certain terms, only including one link (which i have been advised to use as a redirect to my site so my domain doesn't get blacklisted) and to also setup the Email's DKIM & SPF so it authenticates my sending domain. Is there any other methods i can incorporate to avoid the Spam folder? I'll also look to clean my list before sending a campaign to prevent hard bounces.
My apologies if these are 'noob' questions, i'm just trying to learn how to do things properly before i start, as well as keeping the cost down to a minimum. As you can see i have done research, so i'm not going into things blindly, i'm just new to Email Marketing and all this new information is quite a lot to process. I just want to know if i'm on the right track?
As i said before, i'd be grateful for any tips and suggestions. Thank you.
