Long time lurker, first time poster. Seems to be some good advice out there so I'll ask for opinions.
I've dabbled in making two tube sites before, but was only making 3 dollars or so a week with ~150 visitors a day. I didn't have the budget for a good server so most videos were taking 24 hours or more to convert after upload and the tube script wasn't too great. I quit after a month when the server was to be paid. I now have a bit of money to blow (but my freelance work involves lots of travel so I'm looking for something to do that doesn't involve customer support; things like drop shipping were out) so I'm going to grab a copy of KVS and get a better tube online.
I'd like to focus on one site for now, I used to have a generic site and one for my personal fetish (petite asians) but strangely both were getting about the same revenue. The generic site has slightly more traffic and lower cpm. So should I focus on the niche I like or just be a adult file host where if it's legal I'll keep it up; I got an offshore host ready that’ll ignore DMCA.
Why a tube? Eh. I like them. I could probably put up WordPress with some torrent links too but that doesn't really appeal to me. Don't think I'd stay interested.
TLDR: To niche or not to niche, that is the question. I know a tube might not be the best idea out there but it’s what I know; learning how to program or write books or whatever isn’t something I care to do.
