MB is ok, i have used it for selling (not ebay) for a while. Only problem is, is that ebay and PP are partners so you will find that 95% people will only take PP as payment. Slowley more people are offering MB tho

Not so many people use it but you're not getting any
chargebacks or limited accounts from them.

Yes it is too good to be true, at least for people in the US. According to ebay rules( for which they must have paid some people millions to avoid getting struck down by antitrust legislation) you can accept moneybookers from a buyer but you CANNOT even give a hint in your auctions that you dare to accept anything but paypal and credit cards from your buyers. If ebay catches you saying in your auction that you accept moneybookers as payment they can permanently revoke your seller account.

How the f%$* did they pull that one off? That's breaking the monopoly laws

Anyone with a grain of common sense knows it's breaking monopoly laws as well as plain old fair business practice laws. It stinks of unfairness from a mile off. Their claim is that it makes the ebay experience safer for all users by cutting down on fraud.

The odd thing is a few years ago they used to proudly say that they have "faith in humanity" or some cheesy phrase like that after which they assured everyone that the vast majority of ebay users and indeed the vast majority of people in the world just want to do business honestly. I can't quite remember the wording of it but the meaning behind their claim is still stuck in my head.

Now as far as buying is concerned, paypal doesnt make things better they make things worse and if you get ripped off paypal in most cases just tells you to go screw yourself--this despite gobbling 3% on every single ebay transaction. As far as selling is concerned paypal also makes things worse for the merchant because guess what else, in the US you *cannot* demand that people pay you via direct balance transfer. You cannot deny people the right to pay you by credit card either to save that 3% or to save yourself from a chargeback due to fraud.

I could go on and on but the gist of it is--paypal makes life shittier for buyers and sellers but get away with claiming they make life better while ripping everyone off a little bit at the same time.
