Tough times and I can use a little bit of extra income, I'm looking for some legal ways that I can make money online, I'm willing to actually put in the work, I'm tired of hearing about those annoying survey sites and what not lol. Is there any actual suggestions?

I can basically do anything except graphic design, I also have high end computers and audio equipment. I've tried writing however the market is insanely competitive.

That is not really an answer, you cannot do anything, nobody can. Else you could come up with ideas to make money.
So at the very least we know you cannot do graphic design or come up with product/service ideas.
You need to figure out what you can actually do and then look for ideas around that.
But unfortunately for you, not being able to do graphic design means you will struggle to build a website that people will be interested in, because you will be up against people who can.

Oh well I have the ability to build an attractive website, I meant more along the lines of advanced Photoshop. I was thinking more along the lines of doing actual work for people.

Stating you can 'basically do anything' isn't going to get you hired. You need to identify your skills and sell them to people. Make people want you.

You already made it to bhw and here's everything you need. Just start reading, find out what sounds interesting to you and stick to it until you know enough about it to put it to action.

If you have website design skills, i read a post somewhere on BHW in the past where you offer free websites to Buy Sell groups.
People will contact you, you offer them a basic website and tell them they need to pay for hosting and domain registration.
Go to domain and web host websites and find the "affiliate" option and see how you can get an affiliate link.
Most of the time the clients would ask for recommendations and you give them your referral links.
Alternatively, you can upsell on more complex websites/ resell SEO packages( many awesome SEO services on BHW marketplace) for up to 100% profit and people will still pay.
Method 2:
Go through craigslist gigs section. Look for any gig people need to get done. Reply them with a great offer and wait for people to hire you.
It basically goes like this:
>Find any gig(e.g article writing)
>Go onto websites such as Fiverr, search for article writers, choose the article writer that has the best fit for that gig
>Ask the fiverr seller how much he charges, and then contact the person looking for the gig and resell it to him at a higher price
** This method works really well for gigs such as website design, logo design, article writing and even scrapers**
**Most importantly is to write a convincing email to them so that they will find you competent for the job**

You can choose either the spammy route or the build up pages and advertise cloaked affiliate offers. Second one needs more capital though.
