I've listed here general steps needed to begin earning through affiliate programs. I'm trying to "break" into t-shirt scene. Reason I'm listing this is because I'm a noob and I wan't to be sure I'm doing everything right, so can you guys correct me if I'm going into wrong direction?

1. Choose & register cool domain name related to my niche.
- Done.

2. Set up a wordpress blog and cool theme relevant to my niche.
- Done.

3. Join affiliate programs.
- Done. Joined TshirtHell, BustedTees and ShirtMagic.

4. Post products from affiliates product categories to my blog with pics, descriptions, maybe reviews and most importantly: my affiliate link where people can buy the stuff.
- Soon to be done.

5. Post t-shirt related articles to my blog. [is this step actually needed??]
- Not done. Are these actually needed...?

6. Start promoting and driving targeted visitors to my blog.
- Soon to be done. I'm going to use every promoting method there is.

Am I doing this right?
Is there more steps needed?

thanks in advance! :)

Not really sure how much there would to be write about T-shirts but I do know that in order to rank high in search engines, you need fresh updated and constant flowing content. You might run into a few small hurdles regarding that.

I had this idea a few weeks back regarding Ts but I was going to do it slightly different.

Here where I live, I'm near a printing company where my fiance works. They do custom T-shirts with pretty much anything printed on them for cheap cheap.
I was going to do a few designs with quotes on them like:

For Kids or babies example: "All my daddy wanted was a blow job!" :D

Anyway, the above was a joke example but you get the idea...I was going to promote original, funny and controversial T-shirts and sell them.
I think it would have worked out pretty well too, but because of that article issue, I shot the idea down and left it.

I'll try to help where I can if you need any so good luck bud.

thanks for the comments guys!

Actually I've already ordered 10 high quality and unique SE optimized articles about t-shirts from professional writer.

But does it matter how and where I post the articles in my blog?
I mean, If I post lot of products there and then blend in some articles, doesn't it distract visitors from the actual purpose of my blog: buying t-shirts?
Should I create a new page on my blog and post all the articles there, separate them from the products ?

Quite the opposite actually. You want your articles to blend in with your products; thats the key here!

people wont come to your site to buy T-Shirts primarily because search engines will send people your way from the articles the spiders see. So you really want to use the articles as an advantage and advertise products along with the articles (possibly even have T's for sale within the articles). That would generate your best results in my opinion.

ah... I'm starting to realize the power of articles now... :)
hmmm.... I think I'm going to build my blog product posts in a way like BagBunch.com does. But I think I need to hire someone to do the writing job as I suck writing :p

If you get stuck and need to "hire" someone to do the T-Shirt articles regularly, let me know (you can name your price range) ;)

I wont charge you a lot, it will be more help than me making hundreds out of you.

Why on earth did you go for T-shirts? Why not go for a niche that you know a lot about and then find a related affiliate program. Then you will avoid a whole bunch of problems including the content one. How much can you really write about T-shirts?

Quite a bit actually mightybh, check this out;

h**p://www.google.co.za/search?hl=en&q=t-shirt+articles&btnG=Google+Search&meta=

706 000 possibilities.

I did this for one of my friends on the exact same niche, you just have to be creative. Keep in mind that T's are not only T's, they're in the line of fashion too.

I'll keep your offer in mind :)

Well, I heard there's money to be made in t-shirt business and no matter what niche I would have chosen, at some point I would have outsourced the writing jobs anyways.

IF you want to dropship tshirts and copies too Dies***el etc I have access to thousands of designs for all men women kiddies.
