Kick Starting a New Dating Site

That's a lot of work dude. Why not just build a dating site from a legitimate whitelabel provider. The only thing that you need to do is promote your site. I can help you with this if you're interested.
Hi Keyword! i have 3 dating website white label and need some help if you can :)! thx!

hi i have a new dating website, and i bought 10,000 profiles and i let my programmer modify it.

Add some fake accounts, comments, likes etc
Then add PM bots, who'll send some random dumb shit like 'hi,your adorable, wanna meet?' etc
Then you could post some fake reviews on 3rd party sites, blogs and other media
In short, simulate activity :)

Hire a good looking lady as a "rep" for your site and have her hand out fliers in a college town.

Are there any programs out there that can automatically create fake accounts on your site?

If you need dating traffic at cheap rate contact us on Skype.

I agree with you. If a guest found that your site have a very few amount of members, he won't be interested to signup. To get traffic I suggest you to keep promoting your site on relevant sites and blogs. Social networking sites are also effective to get traffic. You may also try on relevant FB pages and groups.

Sorry for bringing up this old thread but I am interested in anyone that knows how to develop a dating site.

Can I say that White Label is NOT the way to go unless you are looking for beer money, and that customising your own dating site is definitely the way forward if you want a huge success.
I have been working behind the scenes for one of the biggest dating site networks in the UK for the past few years and have seen exactly what they do and how they do it in generating between £6K - £10K every day, and it's ridiculously simple if you have someone that can create the right backend for your site. The problem is that none of the "off-the-shelf" products like SkaDate, Chameleon, Able Dating, and so on have what is needed and most of them have quoted me £1500 - £250,000 to customise the back end to what is needed.
The reality is that nobody is ever going to compete with White Label Dating or the sites I have worked for without the right solution and that solution is not available anywhere to buy without huge development costs.

If there are any developers on BHW that think they have what it takes to build the sort of site needed (and the front end doesn't have to be anything too fancy with loads of pointless features, you could build it on Wordpress with a half dozen dating site features!) then I would love to hear from them because I have no developer experience required to create what is needed, and I am literally sitting on a huge amount of knowledge and about 13 years of experience that is going to waste while working for other sites that I watch make £thousands/day.

I believe with my knowledge, a good developer who can create the right site and a good marketer who can advertise on the right channels I know that other sites use, then it is more than likely a business can be created that initially could make £hundreds/day and over time and further development could be raking in £thousands/day with everyone else on BHW wanting to white label the network to make their own slice of the market!

Drop me a PM if any of the above gets your interest and you think you have what is needed. :)

Do you REALLY BELIEVE what you said? Is it that simple? Do you trust yourself?

If yes then I don't see any reason for you to NOT investing £1500 or little more. IMO, go ahead if you trust yourself and spend the money. Try freelancing websites; there you will find cheap developers within your budget.

I not only believe it, I have evidence of the companies using the method and how much they are earning. I understand a stranger having doubts, but I have none as I am working in it and seeing it.
The issue I have is developer quality. It is okay to say £1,500 is worth investing, but the person that quoted that is from Uruguay and offers terrible english speaking support and was struggling to fully comprehend the basics, let alone develop it. He also claimed it could all be done in just 2-3 days which I seriously questioned as not realistic. One that I did start to invest in ended up costing £4K of my money and it was still barely 20% complete and already broken in lots of places that were meant to be fixed, so I gave up on that money pit. Going with a proper London based development company that could promise it finished within 6 weeks were quoting £180K plus setting aside an additional £25K for some project over run.
It might seem simple to just get the money together but you have to be careful not to invest all your money in a poor developer who says everything you want to hear and delivers nothing. And at the end of the day, I am not made of money nor would I get the kind of credit to invest £200K into a project to finally get what is required and still have to deliver on the marketing and traffic that requires clients joining and spending. A marketeer I talked to suggested a budget of £2K - £4K a week in advertising for the first 3 months to fully get the traffic and signups to a level that £1K a day could be achieved. Again, this is a great long term opportunity if you have investment capital but no good for a small start up entrepreneur.

BTW, those who suggest going White Label are probably unaware of a small clause they have. That if a client joins White Label Dating via another affiliates site, and then they subscribe to yours, you receive NOTHING. With some of the biggest dating sites using White Label Dating with huge marketing power to drive traffic to sign up with them, a small White Label Site on the same network is going to get a LOT of second hand traffic who will sign up thinking your site is a different one, but because its the same network they will give nothing in revenue to the site owner as they are already signed up to someone else on the network. This is why it pays to get in on a network from the very start and not be site number 3,000 who is struggling to find unique, fresh visitors to sign up. Niche sites fair better as they attract clients that are not likely to have joined other more generic dating sites on the network..... however, how far the niche can go on a closed network with only so much variation, that has not already been covered, is a tricky thing.

You have no chance...I person I know owns one of these and he spent nearly 150K in first 2 years to get it running. Advertising is everything. His site is still completely free as he would lose 95% of people if he would start charging. Not sure exactly where his revenue comes from, but he is making less than 2K/month when I spoke to him. Well, the site makes more, but all the money go back to advertising to get more people.

I'm not sure how I found your thread, OP. However, I think you might need to partner up with someone also wanting the travel down this online dating path.

I was surfing through a crowdfunding project the other day; they are hoping to build a 'unique' type of online dating community and they seem to be looking for partners and volunteers, I think.

Drop me a PM if you'd like to check out their crowdfunding page.
