I have tried using imacros on CL, but it doesn't really work. I'm sure there is a way, though. Backpage macros are easy to make, hint hint.

I haven't tested your code, but that sounds like you need to use proxies. Yahoo does that when you keep registering from the same IP.

So then to use automation on sites that don't allow registering form the same IP the answer that can be automated is what ?

Which code do you use to confirm registration mails (click the link in registration mails)?

Which code do you use to extract username and passwords from confirmation-mails?

Your best bet would be to download the trial scripting version. Then open the Imacros Browser and use the extraction wizard. After you find the extraction point transfer the code to firefox. Thats how I do it...

Been using this for ahwhile, Captcha beating is easy, you just need to use the right service. Once you become a pro you will realize why you need something better like their scripting version. there is no error handling with imacros. You will eventually need conditional error handling to get very large scale. Imacros is nice in the sense that you can get sometihng up and working very quickly.

Change the directory and the file name.


Oh and LightHouse is right, without the scripting version you can't handle the errors. Simple stuff like if the captchas doesn't go through the first time when entered, it will throw off the whole macro.

I have the scripting version and I'm using VB.NET to handle errors. I'm trying to learn all this in a matter of days, and its frustrating.

anyone have any luck using proxies? i get an error saying that proxy is not supported in this version!

For those of you using the Firefox plugin, yeah. Proxies are not supported. Found something pretty neat though to use them anyway, using some javascript hacks and about:config

Hey pizzafasie look into the "Wildcard" of Imacros. Thats how you set it up to click confirmation links in the email. With my Tubemogul creator I had to set it up to verify the email address. What you do is record a Imacros clicking the link.

Here is a youtube verification link:

Well with the "Wildcard" you can remove the part of the sting (link) that changes in every confirmation email, and then add this character to the end *

So your Imacro would look something like this:

TAG POS=1 TYPE=A ATTR=TXT:http://www.google.com/accounts/*

By doing that Imacros will read the link and click it, avoiding the extra characters in the string.

I almost positive this is what you have been looking for.

This is EXACLTEY where i am at... have to learn VB or VBS. i usually outsource coding but that would make creating macros take FOREVER to have to wait on someone else. very frustrating to try to learn something that fast. I have everything automated but when there is an issue it stops the whole boat negating the time i am saving.
