Hi BHW,

I have been around for a while, but decided to come up with this thread to speed up my learning process.

I am actively developing an adult site with a new domain, and was wondering on the next steps for better ranking. More importantly, I want to understand the priority amongst these possible actions.

1. Purchasing Backlinks - possibly harmful, or good kickstart?

2. Purchasing Traffic - useless until good content / site features?

3. Deploying low tier TGP and video dump sites - backlinks, although these would start with zero ranking - good network in the long run?

4. Tumblr - Backlinks and followers, but possible ban for the advertising?

5. Twitter - viable for adult-ish content? URLs are shortened, so no backlinks?

6. Blogging about site development - Strengthen keywords and increase content?

7. Alternatives?

Again, I would like to know which of these are feasible, or just plain wrong and would not benefit at all.

Thanks.

That is a good idea and should have been obvious to do.

My only concern is the efficiency of the efforts. How can I see what actually works for my competitors, given they do multiple methods? Or to decide whether backlinks are bought of self-managed? Same for traffic...

I would just do everything as what works for some might not work for others.

And to 'test' each method would be too difficult / take too long.

Why don't you just do a google search for your top 50 competitors and analyze what they are doing? That's what I do for my clients and it makes sense, doesn't it?

simple effective method .. but i think op needs confirmation or something like ...

yes/no from guru's of bhw

As someone who has developed such site that has more than a million visitors per month, I can advise you on what you can do in the beginning and what you can skip for later.
First of all, do buy traffic. If your site is good, people will come back to it. Don't just create lists of videos (I guess this is a tube site)
Buy hardlinks from places that bring traffic. There are such places, find them.
If you have the time, set up some sort of blog/news section to post stuff and more importantly, to build links with.

Don't waste your resources in the beginning with:
Social media spam - that includes twitter, tumblr, reddit etc. etc. They do bring traffic but it's just not worth it.
Creating PBN - it will not help you with SEO, it may just hurt your site. Later on, when you have thousands of links and a good link profile, you may go for as many PBNs as you want.

this is my 0.02 cents

Very nice answer, thanks a lot.

I am already purchasing traffic, trying out $1 and $2 offers which promise real human traffic. I get 100% bounce rate and 00:00 session length. But it is guaranteed real human traffic, so it is just that people are in a hurry, right? Riiiight?

Anyway, I am still in the middle of developing features and making some twists to make the site interesting. I am not in a good standing, but this is a long term project anyway.

Regarding Social Media, I am doing Tumblr and going slow, not doing any affiliate action yet. Not sure if I will.

I will look for hardlinks. Thanks again!

It really depends on what your site is and what niche you're in, what you're selling or promoting, I don't think you can prioritize one more than another, but yes links is absolutely important. But I would avoid buying links as a bulk package. Far better to hire an SEO company if you're unsure what you're doing.

100% bounce rate :):):):):) And yet people still buy traffic

ps I will sell you traffic :) :p

Social media share - use SMM tool and high traffic site authority site link building
After it makes link building with niche related PBN, Web 2.0 and Tumblr
