No, I am pretty sure this update is related to content.
What you have to do is remove ads or limit them to the articles on which u get traffic.
Remove any keyword related to review: -
2) Remove all similar posts
3) Diversify anchors (Remove internal links for now)
4) Also reduce outbound links from ur post and pages
5) redirect but do not resubmit or recrawl the sitemap of previous done.
Let the google find ur backlinks naturally, (Please don't recrawl ur previous domain..

Psshh...bullshit like this is what has polluted the beginner's minds and given those bastards at Google an edge, G spreads more propaganda than Hitler ever did.
Moz and Ahrefs and the big guys have it all figured out, why in the hell would they tell you the secret? For a mere few hundreds dollars when they can milk it for far more than that? What's to say they are not in bed with Google already. They're not the only ones who have figured it out, if you're clueless doesn't mean the rest of the world is.
A.I my ass, we don't have a cure for common cold and Google have created a "machine" that can think like humans? A microscopic bacteria has more complex systems than Google's most advanced computers. Google is thousand years if not eternity away from making a computer that can reason like a human.

Last time 123movies.to changed their domain to 123movies.is
and it took 5-6 days to change all the
links in SERP
2) changed from .is to .to
Means targetted different country from tonga to iceland
So it should take time to rank as per ur thoughts. but it took only 5-6 days only
Because, 123movies were having enough links to target and conquer all the movie keywords in US.
It means link juice flowed in no time.

I did 301 redirect on one of my website and 2 of my client websites. Both recovered. I also start building links to my own website. I asked the provided to start immediately, since all the links will not be crawled in a week anyway. Now, this site is sitting on top 5 for various keywords and my client websites are in the top 10 to 20.
I just 301'ed another client site and lets see what will happen again in about 1 to 2 weeks.

You pretty much buy a new domain move the same files to new host and everything else remains same?
You 301 an authority website that you had, in your main site? How many 301 you did? It was in the same niche?
Please, please... Report back.
I loved my domain, but if I can recover with this, it would be great.

Bought a new domain and move every files to it. Everything else remain the same. Expect, this newest one I redirected a few hours ago. What I did is edit the content and add some words. I have not touch this website for more than 1+ years. And back then, I just buy 10x500 words etc. Now, some of them are 900, 1300, 2500, 3000+words, etc.
Just to add, i add some social signals to the new domain - I don't know if it has an positive effect on it though -
Actually, the first 3 are not AUTHORITY LIKE sites. I use my own small website to test the 301 recovering method. it worked and showed the proofs to my clients and did it for 2 more websites. All of them have recovered and I don't know how long it will last.
The same niche? The 3 websites? No. They are all in different niche.

I have 1 more authority site (Not the one in the case study) that was affected and I don't want to rush it yet. But if you want an honest feedback. Wait for a week or 2. I just redirects one of my lovely semi-authority niche site that has been making $1k for months.What I did before redirecting, edit old posts and add more content, remove all link back to the homepage. It is a static page, so I reduce the mention of the primary keyword. Use a lot of variations of the KWs. (i.e. blue widget, widgets of blue etc.).
What I will do in the next week. Add more content on some old posts and new informational articles.
Send some social signals to the homepage and other landing page.
Buy an SEO service and use more than 10+ anchor test for it.
Add more content.
Then wait for another 1 week to see how it will go. (You can get in touch then, and I will tell you if this works or not.)
