I am waiting for your first post without copy pasting from other places.
If you keep on doing this, you will get warning for spamming.

Well, basically if you focus on solid long tail keywords there is a chance they would be quite low competition in your niche.
You can use search engines' Autocomplete and Related Searches rather than Keyword Planner tool that is geared to show the more commercial terms.
I'd recommend you to try Rank Tracker (free version will do) from SEO PowerSuite that gathered 20 different keyword research methods all in one tool that will help to meet your needs:

I suggest you give Ahrefs a shot.

It's a really powerful tool, and have arguably more reliable data than most alternatives.

They have a great metric called "keyword difficulty" (KD for short).

The basic premise is that keyword competition is mostly based on the number and quality of links pointing to pages that already rank for a particular keyword.

Ahrefs data shows that links are (by far) the most impactful ranking factor for a page. Therefore, it makes sense to analyze the difficult of ranking for a particular keyword (the level of competition) based on the number and quality of links pointing to the current results for that keyword.

So you can search for some keywords in your niche, and checkout their KD scores. Then you can also use their "suggest keywords" functions to find similar keywords that you might also consider.

Spend some time finding new keywords, checking their KD, and taking notes.

Keep doing this until you have a collection of keywords that have reasonably competition. Anything with KD of 10 or less would be a good start.

As a general rule of thumb, the higher the KD the more links your page will need to rank on the first page.

Use Keyword everywhere tool extension in your browser and search whatever KWs you have. You can get the competency of the KWs.

People have shared different methods of keyword research, you might as well want to spend some time reading them all.

type allintitle:keyword on google.
lowers results is lower competition

Great comment.

How have you found the kd score accuracy wise?

What would you classify YOURSELF as a easy kd (0-5 for example)?

Do you feel domain rating affects how hard it is to rank for that keyword in reality?

Google Keyword planner can serve you the best results :)

It doesn't show keyword search amounts though so how could it provide best results?

it lacks any real degree of accuracy from what i can see.

You can try with KWfinder it would help you to find the better KWs with low competition.
